COLEC11 is a member of the collectin family of C-type lectins, which contain a collagen-like domain and a carbohydrate recognition domain, and play a role in host-defense (Keshi et al., 2006 [PubMed 17179669]).[supplied by OMIM, Dec 2008].
Function: Lectin that binds to various sugars: fucose > mannose. Does not bind to glucose, N-acetylglucosamine and N-acetylgalactosamine. Binds to LPS.
